Fashion Illustration: Learn to Draw and Render Your Own Fashion Designs
Have you ever wished you could draw out your fashion design ideas the way they look in your head? Anyone can learn to draw following my step-by-step instruction of fashion drawing techniques. From beginner to advanced, I work with you one-on-one to help you learn to express your ideas and designs in pencil, and then in watercolor and/or art markers.
Who is it for?
These classes are for anyone age 10 and up who wants to learn fashion drawing techniques. We start by learning how to draw the human figure in a variety of poses, and then how to dress the figure by drawing fabric with convincing flow, weight, and textures. We will build the curriculum together to ensure that you are learning the skills that are most important to you. Scheduled around your calendar and your needs, one-on-one instruction is the best way to make sure you get the focus and personalized attention you need in order to accomplish your desired goals in your own time.

What will you learn?
This is a multi-class series. The first 2 subjects below can be taught in the first 2-hour class, and the others can be learned in whatever order and to whatever extent the student desires.
- How to draw the human figure (using both ‘normal’ and ‘fashion’ proportions)
- How to give your figures life by giving them a more animated pose
- How to create realistic faces, hair, hands, and feet
- How to draw clothing on the body so that it looks dimensional and fits the figure accurately
- How to draw fabric that communicates drape, weight, and texture
- How to shade your drawings using graphite and other dry media
- How to render your drawings using watercolor and/or art markers
- Most importantly – How to have FUN drawing your ideas, even when you run into challenges
